Lesson 2:  Introduction to Email

1.   Email (Electronic Mail) is one of the most popular programmes on
the Internet.  It is a very efficient way of sending messages to people
whether they are near you or thousands of miles away.

2.    Emailing
2.1    In order to send and receive email, you must have an account on the
Internet and have access to an electronic mail programme.

Alternatively, you must have a computer with Internet access and have
applied for a free Web-based email account.

2.2    You must have the Internet email address of the person(s) with whom you
         wish to communicate.

2.3    Using free Web-based Email Services   Among the many providers of such
services are:  MSN (providing Hotmail), Yahoo! (providing Yahoomail)
         and Lycos (providing Lycosmail).

whether at home or overseas, they can be accessed from any computer
         connected to the Internet.

         know.
